Volkel Airshow 2004 (Part 3) |
||||
|
::: The main theme of the event, '25 years of F-16 within the RNLAF', did not attract the amount of visitors like the did in 1989 with the 10 year anniversary. Not a sign of Norwegian and Portuguese F-16's, although they were stationed for FWIT at Leeuwarden. No Turkish, American or Danish Falcons showed up. It would have been unrealistic to except F-16 from Egypt or Israel, but was it too much to ask for some Greek contributions, as the were stationed for 'Clean Hunter' at Twenthe AB. Moreover the organization issued 'Participant'-badges a number of Greek pilots who came to show-off their flightsuites only... Next time bring your planes or stay away guys ! ::: Exercise 'Clean Hunter' did not only brought Greek Falcons to Twenthe, it also brought a number of unique aircraft to this part of Europe. To bad that non of the USMC Hornets and Prowlers stationed in Denmark showed up at Volkel. This all could have been forgiven if a couple of Polish Su-22 Fitters, stationed in Germany, were on the static display. Yes, some missed chances ! |
