::: During October and November 2004, the second part of the Euro-NATO FWIT (Fighter Weapon Instructor Training) took place at Orland MAS near Trondheim, Norway. This year the Belgian and Danish air forces cancelled their participation.  Only Norway, The Netherlands and Portugal (a first) took part in this training. Graduates from FWIT courses are required to master all aspects of the F-16 and its weapons.  On return to their squadrons they serve as instructors for less experienced colleagues.

::: During the first weeks numerous nighttime air-to-air operations were flown. On these flights a number of life AIM-9 Sidewinders were fired at special flares by both students and instructors. Instructors flew missions with LANTIRN equipped F-16's to record the firing of these missiles.
