Tactical Leadership Program
2007-2 |
::: In 1989 the Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) moved from Jever, Germany to the Belgian Air Base at Florennes. The TLP is aimed at improving techniques and procedures of NATO air forces and multi-national tactical air operations. Development of aircrew leadership capabilities is the mail goal the course, which consists of a number of academics lessons as well as a four week flying program. The missions during flying program builds up in complexity and will have its climax during the last weeks, when extra aircraft are assigned to act as ‘red forces’. The missions, some extended by means or air refueling, are conducted over Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France. ::: The second TLP of 2007 proved to be a very interesting one. Partcipants from the UK (F3), USA (F-15, F-16), Greece (F-16), Spain (EF-18, Da.20), Germany (Torn), Italy (F-16), the Czech Republic (L-159) and from France (Mirage F-1CT, F-1CR, 2000D). When starting from runway 08L it is possible to take some nice shots from the aircraft that stay low after takeoff at the end of the runway. The landing at both sides offers also excellent photographic opportunities. |
