::: During the weekend of 1 and 2 July the Koksijde Air Show 2006 was held. Main themes of the 30th edition of this show were 60 years of Belgian Air Force and 35 years of Alouette III in Belgian.

::: Although it is known that Koksijde always attracts some very nice participants, it is also infamous for its bad static layout (see here in 2004) and the fact that when watching the flying display you are facing the sun. For these reasons the Spotter Mania option proved to be an excellent solution. Having access to a special area on the south side of the base, one was able to photograph from Friday (arrivals and rehearsals) till Sunday. On Friday base personnel offered some excellent guided tours in the Ops Area and at the static show (still without fences). With the future closing a part of the base in 2007 and the shortening of the runway, this edition of the show could very well be the last big airshow
