::: With
a 'Tag der Heeres Fliger' (Day Of the Army Aviation) on 10 September
2006, the German Army opened the gates of Bückeburg, home of the
German Army's 'Heeresflieger Waffenschule' (Army Aviation
Weaponschool).
::: The
static display, which was positioned without any ropes or fences
around the aircraft, was modest in quantity, but great in quality.
Finnish Army Mi-8PS, two Norwegian Air Force AB-412SPs and a
Hungarian Hind to name a few. The Finnish Mi-8PS had only a few
flight hours left and is soon to be replaced by the NH90. The 'Heeresflieger'
proudly showed all of their types, including their latest, the Tiger
UHT ('Unterstützings Hubschrauber Tiger' or 'Combat Support
Helicopter Tiger') and the new NH90.
::: The
flying display contained both mass formation fly-bys, a simulated
air assault as well as solo displays. For many people it was the
first time they witnessed a Tiger performing its solo display.
::: The
'Tag der Heeres Flieger' proved to be a very nice end of the 2006
season. Compliments for the organization are due here. Not in the
least for the perfect parking and transport facilities !
