::: According to the organization the attendance figure this year for the two days is approximately 160,000. Strangely they claim an increase of around 7% on last year. However, last year they clamed to have had 168.000 visitors. Hmm...strange...! Also they claimed not to have raised the ticket price of £ 29,95 (advanced) £35,- (on the day). They wisely did not mention the £10,- increase for their ever loyal FRIAT Mach 3 members. A same increase will be enforced next year, making it cost a stunning £160,- ! ::: The RIAT is still worlds biggest airshow. You still can find numerous rare and exotic aircraft here. But with the declining number of participants each year and the increased price of a FRIAT membership, many enthusiasts are wondering if the future of RIAT is at stake. High quality spotters events in Belgium and very good airshows in Holland, France, Austria and the Czech Republic are getting more attention each year. RIAT'05 was good, but for how long ? |
