::: Exotic aircraft on the show were without a doubt the Greek RF-4E and a rare two seat TA-7C. After several years without Easter European fighter aircraft we were happy to greet no less then four Romanian MIG-21's and the already mentioned Polish Su-22. The Italian Navy send two of their Harriers, including one of the very rare two seat TAV-8B trainers. With two AB-412's and an ATR-42 from the Italian Customs RIAT gained more attractive participants. ::: The eight hour long flying program was contained a good mix demonstrations. Mixed formations of the Red Arrows/Spitfires (RAF), Da-20's/Hawks (FRADU) and the Sea Harriers were unusual sights. Noisy jet demos were the French Mirage 2000, a Finish F-18 and the Dutch F-16 in its new 'Sonic Boom' colors. The honor of the most boring performance went to Boeings Scan Eagle UAV (Unwanted Airshow Vehicle !) |
