Royal International Air Tattoo
(Part 2) |

::: As always the show had several main themes. This year there were the 60 Years United Nations, Surveillance and the NATO tiger theme ROAR'05. These themes were exhibited in separate areas of the static show. The Surveillance and ROAR'05 themes were boosted with lots of interesting aircraft but 60 Years UN was rather disappointing. many NATO Tiger squadrons attended, but with de exception of the RAF and RN non of them brought their specially marked aircraft to Fairford (due to maintenance ?). Although not an official member of the NATO Tiger Community, the specially marked Polish Su-22UM-3K Fitter was not placed in the ROAR'05 area for some reason. ::: The RAF was the largest contributor of special marked aircraft to the show. With a number of color-tailed Tornados, Jaguars, a Harrier and a Puma the respective squadrons had all send their 'pride-aircraft'. |
