Gilze-Rijen Airshow 2005 (Part
2) |
::: This year the participants to the show were rare and unique. Aircraft from Austria, Germany, Egypt, Switzerland, Belgium, Great Britain, Ireland, New Zealand, France and of course The Netherlands attended the event. Although the quality of aircraft on display or flying was great, most people felt that the staticshow was rather limited in numbers. With only 30-35 military planes on display, there was plenty empty spaces left to put some more on the showground. The flying display on the other end was rich and full of variation. The flare shooting F-16 and AH-64 were simply superb. But also the Saab Draken (last time) and the RAF F3 made a big impression. The famous Air Power Demonstration had a litte less power this year, as there were no Chinooks taking part and the number of troops involved from the Air Mobile Brigade was rather limited. ::: The rare and exotic aircraft, variation in flying and good organization (parking, route, free water on exit (!)) made it all great! |
