Gilze-Rijen Airshow 2005 (Part 1)

::: The annual Royal Netherlands Airforce (RNLAF) Open House was held at Gilze-Rijen at 17th and 18th June. The fact that the staticshow at Gilze-Rijen is, due to the layout, always a photographic nightmare from a photographers point of view (people both in front and aft of the plans), the best thing to do is go to the arrivals to take some nice and uncluttered pictures in the landing. This year the (civilian) Police was very supportive as the opened a field to allow the people to park their cars in a safe way. A much friendlier action than the rude Military Police (KMAR) actions last year at Volkel.

::: The weather during the arrival of the aircraft on Wednesday and Thursday was fair. Unfortunately during the arrival of the Turkish RF-4E's the wind had changed and it was gray and dull. Fortunately the weather on Saturday (the second day) was perfect! With a record breaking total of over 365.000 visitors, the show attracted more than twice the amount of people than RIAT did!
